MESSAGE FROM CURT

Well, the temperatures have finally dropped to what is fairly normal for Wisconsin this time of year, and I for one was not ready for it!  The past weeks temps, dipping down close to 20 below zero are brutal, but good for making ice for the fisherman as well as the snowmobilers who enjoy using our frozen lakes and rivers.  Now we just need more snow to get all the skiers and snowmobilers enjoying their sports at 100%!

While the temperatures are still very cold, the deals from General Motors are really starting to heat up!  For the month of January, rebates on some 2012 products are at a high!  For instance, the 2012 Silverado which previously had a $2,500 rebate on it, has now jumped to $4,000!  Couple this with the fact that some people have received bonus cash on their GM card, and now is truly the time to buy!

Now is also the time to stop in and check out new product offerings from GM!  We have recently received our first new Buick Verano off the transport and it is a very nice small car.  It offers options not available from other small car offerings such as quiet tuning in which Buick utilizes acoustic laminated glass, triple sealed doors, and refined chassis dynamics which all block or absorb sound or vibration.  The all-new Verano truly does bring sleek, stylish performance to the small car segment while also adding luxury not generally recognized on an automobile of this size.

Also coming to Parsons soon is going to be the 2013 Chevy Malibu!  This car will also be completely redesigned and is truly a 'must see it to believe it' offering!  The Malibu Eco, which is slated to arrive here in the first quarter, is boasting up to 37 mpg on the highway!  A true eye-opener in the mid-sized segment!

One thing I can guarantee you is that if you want to see the new products available from GM or have your current ride repaired, Parsons will continue to be the place to go for you in 2012!  We will continue to put the customer first and strive to earn your "complete satisfaction" as we have since 1935!

Until Next Month,

Curt Parsons

HOLIDAY CHALLENGE 2011

Parsons employees participated in the Holiday Challenge 2011 through the Langlade Hospital, as did many other local businesses.  The goal of the program is for individuals to maintain their weight over the Holidays (from Thanksgiving, through Christmas, and New Years), the hardest time of the year to maintain your weight.  The Parsons employees participated with great success!!!  Employees did a great job of maintaining their weight, and we even had a few that lost weight!

Below are the overall results from the two locations (as one employee put it, "Over the holidays, the Parsons employees lost one 10-year-old child, to which my reply was, "As long as it wasn't my son or daughter I lost over the holidays, that's great news!)

An hour of your time can save a life!  St. Joseph’s Outpatient Center (across from Langlade Memorial Hospital) holds a blood drive on the first Monday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.   Just phone 1-866-566-5900 to set up an appointment to donate blood.  On average, it only takes an hour or less of your time.  The blood drive is held by the Blood Center of North Central Wisconsin, the principal supplier of blood to the Langlade Hospital.  The next blood drive will be held on Monday, February 6th, 2012.

A MORE FUEL EFFICIENT FUTURE

GM is committed to finding solutions that make a positive impact on the environment and the economy.  For example, GM is the largest producer of flexible-fuel vehicles (those that run on a blend of gasoline and ethanol E85) with more than 1.1 million flex-fuel vehicles on the road.  We're producing hybrid-powered buses and pickups.  And we're developing hybrid cars, trucks, SUV's, mini-vans and full-size vans.  And GM is also leading the way to a world with zero gas consumption.  Imagine vehicles that never need fuel and emit only water vapor!  Our fuel cell technology could lead us there.  For more information on GM's drive for fuel economy, visit us at www.onlyGM.com/mpg today.

GET THE GM CARD THAT'S RIGHT FOR YOU

GM has four unique cards that give you valuable earnings good toward a new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac vehicle.  Some cards even offer cash back, depending on the card you choose.  With 4 unique cards, you're sure to find one to suit you!  The GM card from HSBC Bank lets cardmembers receive 5% earnings on credit card purchases redeemable toward an elible new GM vehicle.  The GM Flexible Earnings Card from HSBC Bank lets cardmembers choose to redeem earnings toward an eligible new GM vehicle or cash back.  The GM Business Card World Mastercard is offered by Chase and is for small business owners for unlimited earnings with no caps, limits, or expiration.  And then there's the GM Extended Family Card from HSBC Bank that offers unlimited earnings that can be combined with the GM employee, GM dealership employee, or GM supplier discount for those eligible, or can be redeemed for cash back.  Visit www.gmcard.com or call 1-866-469-8388 for more information.

GM ANNOUNCED ENHANCEMENTS TO CHEVROLET VOLT

GM will be making enhancements to the structure and battery coolant system in the Volt that would further protect the battery from the possibility of an electrical fire occurring days or weeks after a severe crash.  The enhancements came in response to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Preliminary Evaluation.  The Volt has always been safe to drive, but these safety measures will further protect the battery from the possibility of an electrical fire.  They will be strengthening the safety structure, adding a sensor in the reservoir of the battery coolant system to monitor coolant levels, and adding a bracket to the top of the battery to help prevent potential coolant overfill. After further review, the NHTSA stated that they "do not believe that Chevy Volts or other electric vehicles pose a greater risk of fire than gasoline-powered vehicles".

SOUND OF SILENCE IN CHEVY CRUZE

As an avid fisherman, GM's development engineer Frank Delekta enjoys the peace, quiet, and tranquility of Michigan lakes and streams.  His sense for silence along with the use of advanced technology served him and his team well in their mission to bring luxury-like interior quietness to the Chevy Cruze.

The engineering team used a number of noise-reducing technologies, including 30 distinct acoustical treatments.  They applied a Liquid Applied Sound Deadener applied strategically throughout the body structure and melted it into place through the paint oven.  The doors have triple seals and fiberglass "blankets" that serve as water, airflow, and noise barriers.  They tested vehicles at extreme temperatures - from -20 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit in the same day.  The brutal road and lab testing led to improvements in 74 components resulting in a quieter ride. (On top of the 42 mpg highway miles per gallon!)
